Describe what your organization provides for its customers:

The Sautee Inn is bed and breakfast that welcomes our guests to 7 acres and 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. We provide a full country breakfast and desserts each evening.
While you’re here visiting us at the inn, there’s so many things to do other than taking in the beautiful views we have over the Nacoochee and Sautee valleys. You can go to a bunch of wineries in the area and some phenomenal restaurants. There’s antiquing, hiking trails and waterfalls within minutes of us. One of my favorite things to do is what’s known as “Shoot the Hooch.” You get in an inner tube and float down the Chattahoochee River. It is the most relaxing thing I’ve done since we’ve owned the property—other than sleep here at the inn!

Give us a brief history of your business and what makes it stand out:

We feel the Sautee Inn stands out because of our original art. Our resident artists release exclusive artwork available at the Sautee Inn. We also have beautiful antiques; we have amazing views of the mountains—you can see all the way to North Carolina—and we have great hospitality.
The Sautee Inn--as we know it now--was built in the late 1800s. The inn itself has served several purposes since its original construction in mid-1800s, including a restaurant, private residence, a halfway house, and a bed and breakfast. Rebecca, Mike and I opened the inn on May 15 of 2022, serving guests from all over the Southeast and Northeast. There’s a ton of history involved in the property. We’d love to give you more detail, tour the property, talk about the Unicoi Turnpike which goes back to 1813, talk about the Creek and Cherokee Indians involvement in the area and so much more.

Describe the most exciting recent highlight for your business:

We were just awarded—in our first year in business—Trip Advisor’s top 10% travelers choice award.

Where do you hope to see your business in 12 months?

We look forward to getting to know even more people over the next 12 months. We have so enjoyed our first year, with all the guests we’ve had and returning guests. We just look forward to seeing more people, getting to know and serve them in a way that they feel comfortable and at home when they’re away.

What advice would you offer to someone looking for the type of services your organization provides?

Look for a place that fits your personality. We have some guests who really appreciate the antiques, and they recognize that we’re also a very comfortable place to stay. We have some guests that are looking for views of the mountains, but they want to be just a little bit away from all the wonderful excitement in Helen.
