    Summary:  Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager, this position assists in the processing of soiled linen on a daily basis and maintains the laundry area in a clean and orderly basis.

     

    Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Sorts linen for rooms, food & beverage, golf, recreation
    • Loads soiled linen into washer and washes according to procedures.
    • Loads dryer and drys clean linen according to standards.
    • Knows the operating unction of the laundry machines.
    • Removes lint from dryer lint traps once daily.
    • Runs clean linen though ironer.
    • Folds towels and other bath linens by hand.
    • Places folded linen on marked shelves and loads housekeeping buggies for aides.
    • Ensures certain washers are in use before taking breaks to augment efficiency.
    • Assists Aides, Room Attendant and Public Space Attendants when needed.

    Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills:  Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

     

    Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

     

    Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

     

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.

     

    The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Valid Driver’s License.

     

    Work Environment:    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
