This trail links the Anna Ruby Falls trail to Unicoi State Park. The 4.7-mile hike leaves the Anna Ruby Falls Trail near the upper bridge across the headwaters of Smith Creek and leads to the campground in Unicoi Park. The trail runs near the ridge top of Smith Mountain and follows, but does not come near, Smith Creek. Compacted Soil Surface. 3 hours, one-way / 6 hours, round-trip. Rated strenuous. This is a U.S. Forest Service trail and hikers are encouraged to bring water, wear appropriate footwear, and plan for shuttling if hiking only one direction. Shuttle service is not provided by the park. This trail passes through the Chattahoochee National Forest and passes stands of rhododendron and mountain laurel.
