    Oct. 20, 6-8 p.m. $35- Gun Safety Course (Part 1 Classroom Instruction) & Oct. 22, 10 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. ( Part 2 Target Shooting ) Meet at the Rabun County Firing Range for Target Shooting Instruction. (Attendance required for both segments to receive Certificate Completion) Classroom instruction on important safety rules for firearm handling. The laws pertaining to when and where a person can carry a weapon will be included. Students will participate in practical demonstrations in the classroom. For the range portion on the second day of instruction, the class will meet at the Rabun County Firing Range. All range rules and live fire exercises will be covered. The instructor will teach proper sight alignment, stance, breathing, grip and trigger pull. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Waivers will be provided for participants to sign prior to the live fire exercise. The instructor, Mark Gerrells, has been a police trainer for 26 years specializing in firearms, SWAT and sniper instruction. 2nd Day of Instruction Info: Bring drinking water. Dress for the climate (caps recommended). If you are brining your own gun bring 20 round of ammo to shoot. If you would like to use one of the instructors guns, bring 20 rounds of ammunition for the gun you would like to shoot. Guns available are: 40cal. 9mm and 380.
