Adult Leadership White 2011-2012

Have you ever wanted to learn more about your community? Who are the leaders behind the scenes? How are important decisions made and who makes those decisions? And what about the economic structure? How are funds for county projects and education raised and allocated? Have you ever wanted to know how to get more involved so that YOU can become one of those leaders making the important decisions, promoting the community and giving back of your time and talents? Well, here is your chance . . . apply to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce Adult Leadership White Program Class of 2012!
The Adult Leadership White Program is a collaborative effort between Chamber Staff, Chamber Members, Community Leaders and Adult Leadership White Alumni. The program provides participants an opportunity to both learn and develop the skills necessary to be a leader in the community. Participants are given an overview of city and county operations, they are allowed to tour local tourist attractions and businesses, and they are equipped with vital information about education, government and charity organizations.
The program runs over the course of a twelve month period; beginning with a fun bonding retreat and ending with a graduation celebration. Most of the meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of each month (October through June) from 1PM to 5PM; however, a few of the meetings will either be on different days or at different times (details to follow when available). Members are required to attend ALL functions associated with the program, and must receive approval from their company's CEO before an application will be considered by the Selection Committee. Tuition for the program is $300 for Chamber Members and $350 for Non-Chamber Members. All fees must be paid in full (before beginning in the program) by the participant, the participant's employer or a combination of the two.
So, are you ready to gain a broader understanding of the complexities that our diverse community represents? Are you prepared to use the information and skills that you will gain from this experience to be a leader in the community? If so, please carefully read the contents of this entire packet and submit all required documents in order to be considered by the Selection Committee. We look forward to you joining our efforts of bettering our community!
